Founded by four renewable energy experts with prior experience at Green Hydrogen Systems, Vestas, and Topsoe, Umwelt Energy aims to spearhead the decarbonization of heavy industry sectors, with a particular focus on shipping.

The founders of Umwelt Energy, Alexander Eriksen, CEO, Niels-Arne Baden, CCO, Kenneth Bergstrøm-Andersen, CFO, and Saibaba Vutukuri, Managing Director of India, have been key drivers in building sustainable solutions for several decades - working across the value chain from innovation to implementation.
Holistic Approach to the Energy Transition
Based on their broad and deep experiences across the value chain, the founders of Umwelt Energy realized the importance of a holistic perspective. By examining the entire renewable energy value chain, they identified key areas where their expertise could generate the most significant impact. Green fuels like green methanol and green hydrogen, presented a huge opportunity to help remove fossil fuels from everyday operations, but the lack of maturity in the industry demanded new standards to be set. Powered by the need to address pressing environmental challenges and equipped with the knowledge to connect and accelerate energy solutions, the team decided to come together to establish Umwelt Energy.
